Abstract (en)
A process for treatment of a fibrous pulp or paper web in a press apparatus entails leading the web through a gap with an especially extended press zone (5) formed between a press roller (1) and a counter element, preferably a roller (6). The press roller has a revolving cover (2) made from, especially polyurethane, plastic and a stationary crosshead (3) set axially through the cover, which is pushed in the direction of the counter element by a press shoe (16) supported by at least one support element (4) on the crosshead. At least an area of the cover's external surface is cooled in the axial direction in order to increase the cover's abrasion resistance. Also claimed is the apparatus for treatment of the web (P) as above and including a felt belt (7) on which the web is fed through the gap. There is a cooling apparatus for cooling the cover.

Dargestellt und beschrieben werden ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Behandlung einer Faserstoff- oder Papierbahn in einer Preßvorrichtung, bei dem die Bahn durch einen zwischen einer Preßwalze (1) und einem Gegenelement (6), gebildeten Preßspalt (5) geführt wird, wobei die Preßwalze einen umlaufenden, aus Kunststoff bestehenden Walzenmantel (2) und ein den Walzenmantel axial durchsetzendes stationäres Querhaupt (3) aufweist und der Walzenmantel (2) durch einen über wenigstens ein Stützelement (4) an dem Querhaupt (3) abgestützten Preßschuh (16) in Richtung des Gegenelements preßbar ist, und wobei zur Erhöhung der Abriebsfestigkeit des Walzenmantels (2) der Preßwalze die Außenoberfläche des Walzenmantels in Axialrichtung der Walze wenigstens bereichsweise gekühlt wird. <IMAGE>
