[origin: EP0771946A1] The system includes a fuel tank with an immersed fuel pump which conveys fuel through a pre-charge piping over a filter into an injection rail of a combustion engine. A reverse piping is provided, through which the engine returns not required fuel into the fuel tank. The filtered fuel is supplied to a pressure control (12) which opens above a predetermined threshold pressure, so that the excessive fuel flows over the reverse piping (17,9) back into the fuel tank (2). A back-pressure valve (13) is connected after the pressure control in direction of the engine. At least one elastic element (39) is pref. installed as a pressure buffer in the precharge piping.
