[origin: WO9603570A1] The shield driving machine (100) is therefore fitted with a working chamber (21) to which pressure can be applied by means of a fluid medium and which is sealed against the rear unpressurised section (4) by at least one access lock (27). The rock-loosening mining arm (10) of the shield driving machine can be pivoted away from the centre about at least one swinging axis on a circular bearing plate (8) which is fitted to rotate about the central axis (M) of the shield driving machine, which is thus also suitable for drilling larger diameters.
