[origin: EP0773073A2] The axial locking device has a locking plate guide (10) with a locking plate (11) operated via a hydraulic piston/cylinder device. A cylinder housing (21) is symmetrical to a piston rod (24) displaced to either side. The locking plate guide and the locking plate have a window opening (1) corresponding to the length of the piston rod and the width of the cylinder housing, receiving the latter with loose contact of both piston rod ends with opposing transverse surfaces (2,3) of the locking plate.
