[origin: EP0773165A2] The cigarette packaging has an outer sheathing of a transparent plastics foil material, provided with a coloured or printed label (16) on its inside together with a foil tear strip (15) which is coloured for distinguishing it from the sheathing material. The tear strip is applied to the sheathing material web (13) via radial movement of a holding segment (43) of a feed roller (26) which secures the end of the tear strip.
