[origin: FR2735117A1] A device is disclosed for separating strips, in particular paper or cardboard strips obtained after a web (1) is slitted. The device has two curved separating cylinders (9, 9'), i.e. one top upstream cylinder (9) and one bottom downstream cylinder (9'). The web (1) is supported on the top of the upstream cylinder (9) and on the bottom of the downstream cylinder (9'). The device is characterised in that both upstream (9) and downstream (9') separating cylinders have the same diameter and in that their longitudinal axes (VV', WW') are located in substantially vertical, parallel planes (P, P') normal to the respective surfaces of the incoming web (1) and outgoing web (1'). The concavity of both separating cylinders (9, 9') faces upwards and the curvature of both cylinders is such that all perpendicular lines extending from any point (A1, A2, ...An) on the longitudinal axis (VV', WW') of one cylinder onto the longitudinal axis (WW', VV') of the other cylinder, have the same length.
