[origin: WO9604640A1] A method for the optimised addressing of a liquid crystal display is disclosed. The matrix addressing method of the invention consists of periodically scanning each line with a voltage signal VA(t) as a function of time and is characterised in that each signal period comprises a plateau portion up to TF followed by a curve which can be a straight line portion of slope alpha between TF and TF'. The invention is useful for liquid crystal displays.
