Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0774278A2] The system has water and an additive for extinguishing fires, which are stored in pressurised tanks, and which are especially part of a permanently installed system. A tank (6) of the additive is arranged in a water tank (8), and a bursting diaphragm (7) is located between them. A propellant gas (20) can be fed into one or both of the tanks, and may be located in a container (1) which has shut-off taps (3,4) arranged between it and the tanks. It may also be fed directly into the additive tank, so that a diaphragm breaks and the additive mixes with the water in order to form a mixture, which is fed to the seat of the fire after the opening of a tap (9,11). The water tank may also have a connection (13) for rinsing water.
