[origin: EP0774420A1] The container is especially a crate (1) for use on a roller track, and has a base (3) which has longitudinal projections or tongues (6) on the outer edge of its underside, and which has grooves or depressions (7) between them. The tongues and grooves can engage in those of a crate which is positioned underneath. Raised elements (8) are arranged close to the grooves, and are parallel to them. The elements have horizontal lower edges (8a) which lie at the level of those (6a) on the tongues, in order to form a supporting surface. The horizontal edges form an uninterrupted track (10) which is close to the edge, and which is at the same level for rollers on storage racks or transportation tracks.
