Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0774438A1] The carrier is in two parts. It has a drum holder (1) and an upper lifting part. The cable drum (2,3) lies in the holder, with its axis (4) clamped and unable to turn. The holder has a centring bell (10) at the bottom for stacking. At the top, it has hooks (8) for hanging it in the lifting part. The lifting part is suspended from the cable of a travelling winch or crane. Several holders may be stacked on top of the other, whether empty or with cable drums in them. Each holder can be loaded onto a lorry with its centring bell resting on a holder on the lorry.
