[origin: EP0774633A2] The device has a system chamber and a separate cool chamber which is cooled by an evaporation device subject to defrosting from time to time, for cooling drinks in containers which can be removed via a tap point. Drops falling from the tap are collected in a container beneath the tap point. Melt water generated during the defrosting of the evaporation device (12), is collected and fed to the collection container (25). A collection channel (14) beneath the evaporation device collects the melt water, which is fed from the channel to the collection container. The end of the evaporation device protrudes into the collection channel.
