Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9605071A1] The invention concerns a ring-file opening and closing mechanism with a baseplate (10), two page-holding pins (12) projecting up essentially at right angles from the baseplate, a rocking bow (18) mounted on the baseplate (10) so that it can pivot between an open position and a closed position and join up with the page-holding pins (12) in the closed position, a bearing plate (20) projecting up from the baseplate (10) and a mechanism-operating lever (22) which is mounted in the bearing plate (20) to pivot through a limited angle between an open position and a closed position. The invention calls for the mechanism-operating lever (22) to be designed as a sheet-metal stamping with one side (32) parallel to the bearing plate (20) and a flange (36) angled at right angles to the upper edge of the side (32) of the stamping and widening out, at the end remote from the lever mounting point, into a handle. The side of the lever has a plain-bearing surface (30) located on a circular projection (38) and lying against the bearing plate (20), the side of the lever also having an integral tubular rivet (42) centrally located near the bearing surface (30) and passing through a bore in the bearing plate (20). The lever (22) has a guide shoe (28) clipped on to an arm (54) extending out from the side (32) of the lever, the guide shoe lying against a bearing shoulder.
