[origin: EP0775618A1] The ABS braking system has control valves between the master cylinder (2) and the wheel brakes as well as high pressure pumps (13,14) for the ABS control and for automatic braking control. The pumps are supplied by a low pressure pump (70) which has an integral bypass for return flow. The low pressure pump has a bypass (74) linking the inlet and outlet under set conditions linked to motor speed and fluid viscosity. The flow restriction of the bypass provides a self limiting pressure control for the low pressure pump.
