[origin: EP0775629A1] The mine clearance system involves a device which is packed into a missile which is deployed into the vicinity of the mine by a shoulder held launcher, eg. a grenade launcher. On entering the water the device opens and deploys an inflatable raft (20) under which is supported a charge (25), with a detonator (30) and with an attached propulsion unit (28). The device is steered onto the mine by remote control (17,18). The device has an impact detonator and/or a proximity detonator. For improved effect a hollow charge is used to penetrate the outer casing of the mine and destroy the charge inside the mine. Coloured lights (23,24) on the inflatable enable the user to steer the craft.
