Abstract (en)
The helical compressor has a compressor housing with an inlet (50) and an outlet for the medium which is to be compressed. It has two helical elements which are arranged in a chamber in the housing, and which extend between the inlet and the outlet. The elements engage in one another, in order to form closed compression spaces. Openings (70) for controlling performance are arranged in a chamber wall region which bounds compression spaces which are closed at maximum performance. Each opening is arranged at a place which corresponds to a different compression ratio, and one of several control elements can either fill in the opening in order to close it, or can stand at a distance from the opening, in order to connect it to a channel (72) which is joined to the inlet.
