[origin: EP0775835A2] The device has a sensor arrangement which can be attached to one of the two parts with a signal line arrangement contg. at least one line connected to an evaluation device and at least two sensor units which can be positioned in different longitudinal positions. In the working positions the sensors in the sensor units are each in contact with at least one signal line. Several sensor units (38) can be commonly and simultaneously associated with at least one signal line (35) so that so that the same signal line is used to transfer their sensor (48) signals to the evaluation device. Each unit has an encoding device (55) which produces a characteristic coded signal for its sensor when activated, enabling the evaluation device (12) to identify the activated sensor.
