Abstract (en)
The refrigerator includes a cabinet enclosed in a layer of thermally insulating material which is itself encased in an outer layer (12). Within the refrigerator cabinet there is provision to collect the water formed by the defrosting of the refrigerator. Such water is guided to an outlet (19) at the back of the refrigerator cabinet formed within the moulding of the cabinet. A short length of pipe (15) carries the water from inside the cabinet to the outside surface, and a groove in the back of the cabinet guides the water down to a reservoir (20). The groove offers a slight inclination w.r.t. vertical at an angle of the order of 2 or 3 degrees. The water collection reservoir (18) may be located on the top of the motor which drives the refrigerator compressor.
