Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0775885A1] The joint consists of a connecting piece (5) with a cut-away portion (4) which is fixed to one (1) of the two pipes. It engages with a locking member (3) which is welded to the other pipe. The engaging parts of the connecting piece and locking member have the same dovetail-shaped cross-section. This allows a limited movement between the pipes in one direction only to compensate for temperature fluctuations. The connecting piece is in the shape of a straight bar with a dovetail-shaped cut-out. The locking member is in the form of a cradle with a curved recess to receive the second pipe.
