Abstract (en)
The arrester is used on a cylindrical cartridge containing a propellant charge (8) designed to fire an artillery projectile. The arrester has a skirt (3) which is made in one piece or several sections. The skirt has a diameter greater than that of the cartridge (6) or the chamber (9) of the artillery piece. The skirt flexes as the cartridge is inserted into the chamber, holding the cartridge in place. The skirt has a tubular section (2) which fits against the outer wall of the cartridge with a projecting ring (4) to engage with a similar ring on the cartridge wall, and a flared end of greater diameter. It can be made from a combustible material or one which fragments on firing, e.g. high density polyethylene or polyamide.

L'invention a pour objet un arrêtoir (1) pour un étui (6) de charge propulsive, étui comprenant une enveloppe cylindrique (7) destinée à contenir une charge propulsive et à être introduite dans la chambre d'une arme, cet arrêtoir est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte une jupe (3), continue ou formée de plusieurs secteurs, jupe de diamètre supérieur à celui de l'enveloppe (6) et à celui de la chambre et destinée à être fixée à l'étui (6) par des moyens de liaison (4), cette jupe se déformant lors de l'introduction de l'étui (6) dans la chambre (9) de l'arme de façon à assurer un maintien de l'étui dans la chambre. <IMAGE>
