Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0776043A2] The apparatus includes several modules (310), each containing one or more controllable power semiconductors (36,37), e.g. IGBT, arranged in a housing (311) with outgoing power connections (313-317) and control connections. Each module has its own drive unit (325) in a separate housing (334) with removable connections. The control connections to the power semiconductor modules are arranged in a fixed spatial configuration which is congruent with that of the control signal outputs from the drive units. All housings for modules or drive units of different kinds are identical.
