Abstract (en)
In a mechanical process to remove water from pressed sugar beet cake, the novelty is that: (a) a suspension of salt or salts containing multivalent ions is introduced directly into the pressed cake; (b) the suspension is introduced in the middle section of the pressing process, after most of the water has been expelled; (d) the suspension is introduced in the middle of the cake layer; (e) when using a spindle press (1), the suspension is introduced at a number of points (12) delivered by a dosing pump (11); (f) the multivalent salt used is a 20 -60% suspension in dry matter of calcium sulphate; (g) the suspension is made by mixing chalk milk and sulphuric acid in a stoichiometric ratio, or by mixing dry plaster in a quantity of pressed water or fresh water; (h) the salt is added at a rate of 2 meq/100 g beet.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur mechanischen Entwässerung extrahierter Zuckerrübenschnitzel. Zur Erhöhung des Trockensubstanzgehaltes in den Preßschnitzeln wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, daß im Preßbereich eine Suspension aus Salz oder Salzen mehrwertiger Ionen unmittelbar in die Schnitzel-Preßschicht eingeführt wird.
