[origin: GB2292404A] A crash barrier suitable for motor racing circuits comprises a multiplicity of crash barrier elements 2 which are engaged with one another. Each element includes an outer PVC cover. In one embodiment, the cover encloses a foam inner member which comprises an outer reconstituted foam region 10 and an inner foam region 12. In another embodiment, the cover encloses an inner foam region which is covered by a laminar sheet material. A crash barrier constructed from a multiplicity of elements placed end to end has been found to be efficient in absorbing vehicle impacts. <IMAGE>
