[origin: EP0778236A1] The folding device (1) for flexible continuously-supplied strip has a reciprocating laying carriage (6) with laying rolls (7,8). A pressure force is exerted on the strip material in the folding zone by a pressure batten (12). There are recesses in the pressure batten, in the surface pressing on the strip, to form belt retaining edges. The recesses are arranged with the retaining edges on a notional straight connecting line, which corresponds roughly to the position and run of the last-laid zigzag.
