Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0778238A1] The cable has one end connected to a cradle (12) and the other connected to a shaft or its cover slab (16). Integrated within the hoist cable (10) or the counterweight cable are multi-wire electrical power and control feeds for the cradle. The cable ends have multi-wire electrical connections which are extended by the use of suitable connectors with extension cables (32,28) to the cradle of the fixed control house (30). Where more than one cable is used on the cradle then the two cables will be of identical construction to preserve balance.
