[origin: EP0778377A1] The roof has a wind excluding membrane of overlapping rolls of flexible sheet materials unwound in parallel strips (5,6,7) across the roof boarding (2). The sheets are laid to cover the transverse roofing laths and held on to the laths without penetration by the clipping action of a decking piece (8). The decking pieces are U-shaped and are sized to fit on top of and along the length of the laths and clamp on to lathe sides. The overlapping edges of the strips of sheet material are securely held and protected during installation of the tiles (4) and completion of the roof construction.
