Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0778393A2] This novel procedure maintains the output of new wells, or cleans and regenerates existing ones. The filter is subjected to ultrasound radiated from a transducer. The water, now full of detached particles, is drawn out. The filter and the gravel section connected to it, are treated to achieve a degree of cleaning, which is measured from the water extracted. The filter assembly is cleaned section by section with the transducer stationary, in the absence of mechanical or hydromechanical effects. Also claimed is a device to carry out the process. This includes two height-adjustable packing units containing transducer and extraction pump (7) which are moved in the well. The pump is in the upper pack (5), connected by a line (8) to the instrument (9) making the measurements.
