Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0779234A1] The system consists of a suction cup to grip the load, connected to a winch by a cable (14). The cable incorporates a traction core (60) and a suction duct (62) inside a reinforcing braiding (67) and a sleeve (68), e.g. of polyurethane. The suction cup comprises a base (50) with a fixing element (70) for attaching to the traction core. A suction port (76) is linked to the duct (62). A safety dome (52) covers the base and surrounding a zone in which the suction duct is separated from the cable. It also incorporates an effort sensor (72) between the fixing element and the traction core. A vacuum detector (74) measures the residual pressure in a depression zone (54) formed between the base of the cup and a surrounding seal member (56).
