Abstract (en)
[origin: JPH09175786A] PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety of an operation by detecting the expanded condition of a sliding beam provided with an expansion stabilizer on its end and estimating the minimum expansion length of respective sliding beams by an overload safety unit for the purpose of detecting the limit of losing safety. SOLUTION: The carrier 1 of a truck crane includes a sliding beam 2 and a stabilizer base 3 supporting the sliding beam 2 is expanded at a right angle to the ground with respect to the sliding beam 2 by a hydraulic cylinder and grounded. The sliding beam 2 is expandable in three stages and the respective expansion stages are adjustably bolted to a guide way. In this case, a monitoring unit is provided for detecting the expansion state of the sliding beam 2 and sending to an overload safety unit signals corresponding to the related expansion state of the individual sliding beam 2. In order to detect the limit of losing safety of all sliding beams 2, minimum expansion length of a individual sliding beam 2 is estimated.
