[origin: EP0779385A1] A dense fine weave of microfibres is proof against mites, the weft comprises 45-80 threads/cm, each thread containing a number of filaments equal to 75 or above and each filament having a diameter < 9 mu m. Also claimed are areas where the weave may be used as follows: as covers filled with down or fibres, e.g. silicone-treated hollow polyester fibres; operating theatre undergarments; clean room clothing; covers, e.g. for upholstery, bedding and mattresses; filter weaves; carrier material for chemicals.
