Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0779398A1] The system consists of two telescoping modular assemblies. Each assembly has a supporting structure comprising two lengthwise members (10,11) supported by rollers (12,13) and supporting the inner lateral edges of the cover assemblies. Lateral guides position the assemblies relative to one another as they are retracted or deployed. Each assembly has a lateral guide roller (21) with a vertical axle (21a) on a support (22) situated at one end of a lengthwise member. A guide track (18) is situated on the inside of the lengthwise member, offset vertically in relation to the roller. The guide track forms a vertical guide channel for the other, inner assembly (11) which has a horizontal roller (19) on an axle (19a) mounted on a horizontal support (20). The rollers (19, 21) are made from Nylon (RTM), and the cover is light in weight, made e.g. from aluminium and polycarbonate.
