[origin: EP0779402A1] The lock has a bolt (2) which can be actuated selectively e.g. by an electromagnet (5) or motor or by a key-operated mechanism with sets of closing and locking tumblers (6,7) adjustable on a movable shaft (8). It is spring-loaded (9) and released by the upper portion of a retraction lever (10) coming up against a spike (2c) when the electromagnet is energised. To simplify the separation of the electromechanical and purely mechanical drives, a follower spike (8b) on the shaft is arranged to make contact with the side of the lever remote from the surface actuating the locking mechanism.
