[origin: EP0780335A2] The system is for passengers and goods, the platform (6) being transported along stairs (2) between upper (3) and lower (4) decks. It can be stowed below the stairs at their bottom end. It can be extended from below the lowermost step, which can be formed by movable step plates, which slide into an intermediate space below the stairs, rolling up into a housing. Alternatively it can consist of a segment sliding under the stairs in the horizontal direction.
