Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0780754A1] The knob is secured to a printed circuit board (11) by clips (10a) into its housing (10), and incorporates a switching axis (12) which can be pushed down against the opposition of a spring (13). A contact disc (17) under the spring cannot rotate with respect to the axis but can be tilted to make contact (18,19) with printed conductive tracks (20). Precise setting of the knob on rotation into a selected functional position is ensured by a catch (23) co-operating with a clip. The knob can then be pressed for automatic pulse generation to make adjustments (e.g. time or temperature settings) which are displayed to the user.
