[origin: EP0781715A1] The circular tank (1) is fitted with a floating cover (5) which is spaced from the inside wall of the tank by a ring gap (23). This gap is bridged by a support structure (17) which holds curved plates (16) against the inner wall of the tank. The top of the ring gap is covered by a flexible cover (31). A flexible membrane (22) covers the inside of the curved plates. The cover rises and falls with changes in fluid level. The upper edge of the cover has an elastic seal (25). The bottom of the flexible membrane touches the fluid as do the curved plates and the support structure.
