[origin: EP0781857A1] Treating the surface of an electric conductor such as a bar (1), in particular, against oxidation and/or to ensure that the surfaces possess a low electrical contact resistance, comprises thermally spraying a protective and electrically conductive coating (3) on at least one surface of the bar. Also is the above process including anodising the all surface and locally sand-blasting the bar. Further claimed is an electricity conducting bar made of a plain material such as aluminium, and coated with silver or tin.
