Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0781897A2] The exhaust gas turbocharger turbine comprises a housing (1) with a gas inlet and a gas outlet (2,3). There is a turbine running wheel (5) borne by a shaft (4) in the turbine housing. There is a flow channel (8) for the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine between the turbine running wheel and the housing. There is a nozzle ring (7) upstream of the running wheel. At least one spray nozzle (11) is arranged upstream of the nozzle ring, which is fed with water via a feed conduit. There is a positioning component in the feed conduit and this is effectively connected to a measurement component assessing the condition alterations of the exhaust gas. At least one radial recess (10) is formed in the gas entry housing in the area before the nozzle ring.
