[origin: EP0781911A2] The backfire prevention method allows the fuel feed provided by the fuel injection valves to be disconnected for a selected cylinder or cylinder group when the throttle valve is moved into a closed or approximately closed position after a given delay. The fuel mixture to the remaining cylinders or cylinder groups is adjusted by the fuel injection control simultaneously with the cut-out of the fuel to the selected cylinder or cylinder group
