[origin: EP0783856A1] The bed base consists of slats connected at their ends to a rigid frame. The bed base has one set of upper rigid slats (2) and a second set of lower flexible slats (3). Both sets of slabs are linked by intermediate elements (4) which transmit efforts from the load on the rigid slats to the flexible ones. The upper slats are in pairs connected at their ends to deformable supports (6) linked by teeth (7) ensuring equal deformation of the two supports in each pair. The intermediate elements (4) are T-shaped, with their cross-pieces connected to the two rigid slats of a pair and their vertical legs attached to a single rigid slat.
