Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0783972A1] The ink reservoir is integrated into the head and includes an intermediate storage chamber (10) for holding a main volume of ink (12) within a central symmetrical region. There is a system for transferring the ink from an ink reservoir situated in the base of the franking machine to the intermediate storage reservoir. A pipe (18) is provided to draw out the ink from the intermediate storage reservoir and supply it to the print head. A free ink surface is defined at a distance from the symmetrical storage region, whilst the withdrawal pipe (18) enters the reservoir at the symmetrical section, so that is remains constantly immersed in ink.
