[origin: DE19600566C1] The casing (1) has cylinders with walls which are surrounded by a cooling water jacket over at least part of their external area. The jacket is formed by at least one jacket wall (10) and the cylinder wall. The casing also has a lubricating oil circuit, with an oil cooler (8) which is arranged on the side of the casing. The oil cooler can be integrated into a water box (9), which is cast on the side of the casing. A section (22) of the jacket wall simultaneously forms a boundary of the water box on the side which is nearest to the cylinders.
