Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9611144A1] The invention concerns a collapsible plastics container whose walls are manufactured independently of the container base (1) and then fitted together therewith. The walls are connected to the base via hinges (4) each consisting of a hinge housing (5) which is anchored on the base (1) and has an insertion portion (8) and an end portion (10) which are separated by a gap (9). The hinge housing (5) further has a channel (11) passing through both portions (8) and (10). The hinges (4) also comprise a hinge pin (7) which is rotatably mounted in the channel (11) and is connected to the wall via a web-like retaining finger (6). In the region of the insertion portion (8), the channel (11) is laterally open in the form of an insertion slot (12) which tapers towards the gap (9), such that, when the wall is fitted to the base (1), i.e. when the hinge pin (7) is introduced into the channel (11), the retaining finger (6) can be pushed via the insertion slot (12) into the gap (9) in which it is secured against sliding back. The walls and base can be dismantled and re-assembled without the use of a tool.
