[origin: WO9608557A1] Human inositol monophosphatase H1 polynucleotide and DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptides and a procedure for producing such polypeptide by recombinant techniques and utilizing such polypeptide for therapeutic purposes, for example, screening and designing compounds capable of inhibiting hIMP-H1 and mapping genetic diseases are disclosed. Also disclosed are antagonists against such polypeptide along with procedures for using such antagonists for therapeutic purposes, for example, for treating psychotic and depressive disorders.
