[origin: EP0784952A1] The chair includes a backrest and a shallow seat pad. The angle of the backrest (1) can be adjusted, as can the angle of the seat depending on the backrest angle. The synchronisation mechanism for altering the seat angle is a push-crank chain. Preferably the chain is formed from four gear links (8,11,19,23,25), three rotating joints (15-18) and a push joint (22). The backrest and seat adjustment mechanisms are linked via the push joint, which is an arched double-joint prism-shaped guide, or a flat guide with at least one flat plate secured to the backrest adjustment mechanism and a guide bolt which is connected to the seat adjustment mechanism and insertable into the plate.
