[origin: EP0785078A2] The printer has a housing with a region which accepts the tape to be printed with images. A data entry device defines the label to be printed, a print mechanism. A motor drives the tape through the print mechanism. The system contains an arrangement for determining the maximum height of the text to be printed out based on the selected height of the text and the number of lines to be printed. Another device selects the desired speed of rotation of the motor according to the determined maximum text height.
