[origin: EP0785308A1] The plastic plug comprises a cylindrical plug section (1) which has a head (1a) and a lower region (16). At least part of the lower region has an inner thread (2) which accommodates the sleeper screw, and an outer thread (3) which allows the plug to be removed from the sleeper. The lower region has a uniform wall strength, which is measured so that the outer diameter is at least 1.05 times, and at most 1.2 times the inner diameter. The plug preferably consists of polyolefin, especially HDPE.
