Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0785324A1] The drive shaft (11) transmitting rotary motion to the lock is manually rotatable using the knob (8) in which the motor (5) and gearing (6) are installed coaxially. Slip-ring contacts (10), magnet connections and contacts of a microswitch (14) are all wired to an electronic controller preferably in the cavity of the cover plate (1). The motor rotates with the knob so that manual torque is transmitted to the shaft and rotatability of the motor casing for motorised drive is inhibited. For torque transmission from the casing to the shaft, in manual operation, the gearing is held approximately at a standstill.
