[origin: EP0785325A1] The lock can be opened by an authorised person carrying a device (25) which includes a passive transponder (56) and memory containing a binary authorisation code (29). The outer handle (16) of the door can act on the closure mechanism only when the code supplied from the transponder agrees with the content of the memory (28) of the lock. The transponder is interrogated (54) and the code reader (26) activated only when a periodic switching command (53) is taken up by an alarm transmitter (51), with battery (50), or in emergency when a manual switch (42) is closed.
