Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0785331A2] The tailgate is connected to the vehicle body via a top pivot joint (1-3), and is weight-compensated by spring load through a set opening angle. The pivot joint has an integrated device, to lock the tailgate in at least one partially open position. The locking device consists of a spring-loaded locking member, supported on one part of the pivot joint, and radially aligned relative to it, and a locking marker arrangement on the other joint part. The movable joint part on the tailgate is formed by a hook-shaped hinge arm. The locking marker is located on an arm surface opposite to the joint pivot axis.
