[origin: EP0786356A1] The positioning device has a base plate, two endfaces and at least one side surface (3). At least one clamping element (4) is provided. The clamping element has a surface (5) which is at least partly curved. The clamping surface is brought against the document stack, pressing it against the side surface. When not in use, the clamping element partly covers the base plate (8) in the aperture.
