Abstract (en)
In a reflector lamp having a halogen light source (3), a dichroic filter (5) is applied to the front glass (1) of the lamp in order to produce light having a spectral emission with a single peak which substantially matches the emission spectrum of sunlight, at least over the visible range. The dichroic filter is tuned to the characteristics of the particular light source used and reduces the transmission of yellow and red light significantly below the theoretical values for a lamp with no reflector in order to take into account of secondary and multiple reflections when a reflector is present. In an alternative embodiment, the dichroic filter is applied directly to the light source (3). <IMAGE>
